ECO - MAGNESIUM REMOVER
APPLICATION:-
ECO – MGR is recommended for the removal of unwanted magnesium from aluminium alloys.
ECO – MGR decomposes when heated at 700- 800 degree celcius to release products which react preferentially with magnesium and remove it from themelt. Temperatures above 750 degree celcius are recommended for best reactivity. ECO – MGR has a slight fluxing action helping to clean the melt and dry the dross.
USAGE INSTRUCTION:-
The quantity of ECO – MGR required will vary according to the amount of magnesium to be removed. In practice 8 – 10 kg ECO – MGR should remove 1 kg magnesium from 1000 kgs of molten aluminium with good stirring.
FURNACE TREATMENT:-
- Thoroughly remove all dross from the metal surface
- Carry out preliminary treatment of the furnace by uniformly spreading ECO- MGR on the metal surface. The recommended addition rate is 8 kg of ECO – MGR for every 1 kg of magnesium required to be removed.
- This can be further assisted by lancing the melt with nitrogen.
- After approximately 20-30 minutes, analyze the melt and carry out additional treatment if necessary.
STORAGE:-
- Keep ECO-MGR in its closed packing until used to avoid moisture pickup.
- Store product in a dry,cool area and do not open packaging prior to use.
