CUPREET chemicals manufacturers in India
General Description:
ECO – CUPREET fluxes are either powder or briquetts. ECO – CUPREET 1 is in block form reddishbrown in colour, while ECO-CUPREET-8, 44 and 49 are powders with black green and white colourrespectively.
Purpose:
- In the melting of copper and copper-zinc alloys, the melt gets contaminated with oxides dueto oxidation. It also picks up hydrogen gas from the furnace atmosphere which causes gasporosity. During the melting of copper zinc alloys, the problems of loss of zinc as zinc fumesand the formation of showers of zinc oxide in the air are usually faced.
- ECO – CUPREET fluxes help to solve these problems, they minimise oxidation losses andsuppress the fuming of zinc. They dissolve impurities from the melt and keep the metal clean
Instructions for use:
- Place the ECO-CUPREET 1 block at the bottom of the hot crucible and charge the metal ontop of them. Alternatively add ECO- CUPREET 44 or ECO- CUPREET 49 powder to melt atan early stage of melting. Leave the slag that forms intact until the crucible is withdrawnfrom the furnace.
- Use 1 block or 1kg of powder per 100Kg of metal
- In case of electric furnaces add ECO-CUPREET 49 in two stages. Add the major portion to aheel of metal from the previous melt and use the remainder for the final drossing off. Use 0.5kg of ECO – CUPREET 49 per 100Kg of metal.
- Deoxidise the melt by suitable deoxidising tubes
- Skim and pour
